IDPH Volunteers in Preparedness

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Office of Preparedness and Response (OPR) is committed to providing preparedness awareness to IDPH employees, all of their partners, and the public. IDPH OPR would like to recognize their volunteers in preparedness…VIPs by showcasing a video of the four primary volunteer programs that IDPH supports. The video is a montage of inspiring interviews with volunteer program representatives sharing stories and information about each program.

    • This website is used for unit registration and unit reporting. Unit leaders also have the ability to pull reports on their activities as well as other items.​ This is also where the Factors for Success is completed.


    • MRC TRAIN is a gateway into the TRAIN Learning Network, the most comprehensive catalog of public health training opportunities. TRAIN is a free service for learners from the Public Health Foundation.

    • Through this site, you can:

      • Quickly find and register for many courses listed on and participating TRAIN affiliate sites,
        Track your learning with personal online transcripts,
        Access valuable materials, course reviews, and discussions to improve your learning experience, and
        Stay informed of the latest public health trainings for your area or expertise.

  • MRC Program Office One-Way Listserv

    • This listserv is used by the MRC Program Office to share major announcements.​​

  • National MRC Two-Way Listserv

    • This two-way listserv to allow for those active in the program to share ideas, resources, best practices, and lessons learned. This listserv is conversational and allows for great interaction between units, the MRC Program Office, and others involved in the program. All subscribers must review the MRCLeaders-l Rules and Regulations before subscribing.​

Zoom is an online meeting/training/video conferencing platform with a free Basic package plan. It can host up to 100 participants with a 40 minute limit on the meeting. Click on the photo for more information.

Reference Documents and Publications is a free way to have a conference call line to have conference calls with your volunteers. Click on the photo for more information.

Doodle can be used as a free and easy scheduling tool to figure out what day and time would work the best for your event. Click on the photo for more information.
